RECOMMENDATIONS
If I did not name someone in your local election remember, the rule of
thumb is: If there's a Green on the ballot, vote for that person.
If no Green but a Peace & Freedom (P&F) person, vote for that person.
Greens are the best choice but P&F come in a close second. If neither
Green or P&F, you have to do the research and vote for the person you find
best represents your issues.
Never vote for an incumbent who voted for war,
the Patriot Act, spying on Americans, or torture.

UNITED STATES REPRESENTATIVE
28th: De Lear (G) is a peace activist running against the only CA Democrat who
supports the war, Howard Berman (D), who misrepresents a heavily
liberal district. Berman has been bad on so many issues - civil liberties,
corporate accountability, and anything on foreign policy - that you should
not only vote for De Lear (G), but give him money and tell every one of your
friends to vote for him too or bring 10 years of bad luck on
themselves!!!
29th: Paparian (G) is a progressive lawyer and former Pasadena mayor, whereas
the incumbent, Adam Schiff (D), has a voting record on war, civil
liberties and foreign policy that is almost as bad as Berman. Paparian
successfully defended environmental Josh Connoly and greatly aided Gernonimo
Pratt.
30th: Cannon (PF), a long time progressive activist, is running against Henry
Waxman (D) because he supported the war and the Patriot Act. Waxman misrepresents
a very progressive district: he needs to get a message that it's not enough to
challenge the Republicans on corruption; he needs to take a stand against the
Iraq war and against starting a war on Iran.
36th: Smith (PF) is a peace and labor activist running against the wealthiest
member of Congress, Jane Harman (D), who made her money through
military contracts, which is part of why she supports every war and
restriction on civil liberties. Harman's husband runs a sweat shop in TJ.

44th: Ricardo Costa (G) is a good candidate with a clearly progressive agenda.
53rd: Peter Thottam (G) is an excellent progressive candidate who will stand
up to the realtors and defense contractors that fund the incumbent, Ted Lieu.
